Chapter 18.41 LIVESTOCK
18.41.010 Fowl and livestock.
The keeping of fowl and livestock is allowed in single-family
residential areas provided the following minimum requirements are met:
A. The lot or tract of land is at least one acre in
size.
B. The number of animals shall be limited to one hundred
animal units (A.U.) per acre. Animal unit value shall be as follows:
1. Horse, cow, donkey, etc.-fifty A.U.
2. Sheep, goat, llama, etc.-twenty A.U.
3. Chickens, geese, fowl, etc.-four A.U.
C. Livestock and fowl in residential (CR) zones are allowed
only for domestic use or consumption and shall not be raised for commercial
purposes. The keeping or raising of pigs or swine in residential areas is not
allowed.
D. All animals in residential zones shall be kept inside
fenced enclosures. Related buildings such as barns and animal pens shall be
allowed only in rear and side yards of the tract or lot. (Ord. 523 §
