Chapter 17.16 DESIGN STANDARDS
17.16.070 Blocks.
A. Blocks shall be designed to assure traffic safety and ease
of traffic control and circulation, to accommodate the special needs of the use
contemplated and to take advantage of the limitations and opportunities of the
topography.
B. Block lengths shall not be less than three hundred feet
nor more than one thousand feet.
C. Blocks shall be wide enough to allow for two tiers of lots
except where essential to provide separation of residential development from
traffic arteries or to overcome specific disadvantages of topography and
orientation or unless the city council approves the design of irregularly shaped
blocks indented by culs-de-sac.
D. Right-of-way for pedestrian walk not less than ten feet
wide shall be required where deemed essential to provide access to public or
common facilities such as park, playground, streams and lakes. (Ord. 588 §
