15.28.360 Shallow flooding (AO Zones).

A. Shallow flooding areas are delineated as AO Zone floodplains on the flood insurance rate maps. The provisions of Sections 15.28.320, 15.28.330 and 15.28.340 of this chapter shall apply to any AO Zone floodplains. The depth of the one-hundred-year flood is indicated as the depth number on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps. The one-hundred-year flood depth shall be referenced to the highest adjacent grade or stream flow line in determining which fill or floodproofing heights to use in applying the provisions of Sections 15.28.330 and 15.28.340 of this chapter. In the absence of depth or elevation information, a minimum two-foot flood depth shall be used.
B. Floodplain Boundary Interpretation. The floodplain administrator shall make interpretations where needed as to the exact location of an AO Zone floodplain boundary when there is a conflict between a mapped boundary and actual field conditions. (Ord. 576 § 6(E), 1994)
