A. The building official is the building inspector. The building inspector shall have those duties set forth in state statutes and ordinances of the city.

B. The building inspector shall meet the following qualifications:

1. He or she shall be a person with at least three years of experience in the construction trade;

2. He or she shall be certified by the International Conference of Building Officials;

3. He or she shall have or be able to obtain a Montana driver’s license.

C. With the prior approval of the city manager, and such other approvals as may be necessary, the building inspector may contract for specialized inspection services. (Ord. 592 § 2, 1996)
