Whenever the council shall order any sidewalk or curb constructed and after making such order, it shall be the duty of the clerk to give written notice to the owner or agent of such property in front of which lot or parcel of land the council orders sidewalk or curb to be constructed, which written notice must be posted in front of the city hall for one week, and also by mailing a copy of such notice to every person or agent of such person having property in front of which such sidewalk or curb is to be constructed, at his last known address, the mailing to be done on the same day as notice is first posted; that the service of such notice to construct such sidewalk or curb so ordered shall be deemed completed upon the date of first application of mailing of such notice and if the owner or agent of such lot or parcel of land shall fail or neglect for a period of thirty days after the date of service of such notice to cause such sidewalk or curb to be constructed, the council shall construct or cause to be constructed such sidewalk or curb, and the cost thereof shall be assessed against the property in front of which the same are constructed, and such assessment shall be a lien against the property to which it is assessed.

The notice to be posted and mailed shall be in substantially the following form:

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Columbia Falls, Montana, at its regular meeting on _______________, A.D.19_____

The name of the streets along which said sidewalk and curb is ordered constructed appears upon the minutes of the Council meeting of above date to which reference is hereby made.

All walks and curbs remaining unbuilt at the expiration of thirty (30) days will be built by the City and all costs assessed as a special tax to the abutting property in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No._____.
