Chapter 10.60 RESTRICTED VEHICLES
10.60.050 Designated.
It is unlawful and constitutes a public offense for any
person to drive or for the owner to cause or knowingly permit to be driven any
truck on commercial vehicle upon the streets of the city except upon the
following designated and described truck routes:
A. Southern truck route: U.S. Highway No. 2 as it passes
through the city. The same is further described as entering the west city limits
of the city at the intersection of Ninth Street and Twelfth Avenue West; thence
following Ninth Street to its intersection with First Avenue West; thence
following a curve to the night to the east city limits.
B. Northern truck route: commencing at the intersection of
the west city limits line with Fifth Street; thence east on Fifth Street to
Sixth Avenue West; thence north on Sixth Avenue West to Third Street; thence
east on Third Street to Fourth Avenue West; thence north on Forth Avenue West to
Railroad Street; thence northeasterly on Railroad Street to the east city limits
line.
C. Eastern truck route: Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls from
Railroad Street to U.S. Highway No. 2.
Provided, however, that trucks or other commercial vehicles
carrying passengers, goods, merchandise, and other articles to and from premises
on streets other than designated truck routes herein, or trucks or commercial
vehicles entering or leaving a garage, repair shop, or filling station on
premises not abutting streets and avenues designated as truck routes herein may
leave and enter such premises; but any deviation from the designated truck route
must be by the shortest possible route. (Amended during 1986 codification; Ord.
