10.57.142 Parking prohibited for street maintenance.

A. The chief of police, or his or her designee, is authorized to erect signs or, in his or her discretion, affix written notices to vehicles, indicating no parking upon either or upon both sides of any street or alley when such parking would, in his or her opinion, interfere with traffic or create a hazardous situation relating to the maintenance or repair of any street. When and if such official signs are erected, or notices distributed, no person shall park a vehicle in any such designated place.
B. Any such vehicle left in violation of this section may be removed by or under the authority of any police officer of the city, who shall certify the cost thereof to the city judge, who may add the amount thereof to any fine assessed against the owner or operator of such vehicle.
C. The owner or operator of any such vehicle left in violation of this section, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than five hundred dollars. (Ord. 595 § 1(part), 1997)
