8.28.030 Uniform Fire Code.

A. The city does hereby adopt by reference the most recent version of the Uniform Fire Code and automatically adopts and incorporates any and all amendments and other modifications to such code.
B. Penalties. Any person, firm, entity or corporation violating any provision of the Uniform Fire Code as it is adopted in this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than five hundred dollars and/or imprisonment for not less than five days nor more than one hundred eighty days. Each separate day or portion thereof during which any violation of the Uniform Fire Code occurs or continues shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as provided in this section.
C. Removal of Violation. The application of the penalty in subsection B of this section shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited conditions or any other remedial or corrective action provided for under the Uniform Fire Code.
