Whenever any person shall be convicted of committing or maintaining a nuisance of any ordinance of the city now in force, or that may be hereafter adopted, the city judge may order the chief of police to abate them, and to certify the cost thereof to him, and he shall thereupon add the amount so certified to the fine, and enforce the payment of the same in the manner provided for the collection of fines.
