Title 5 BUSINESS TAXES, LICENSES AND REGULATIONS
Chapter 5.04 BUSINESS LICENSES GENERALLY*
5.04.030 Definitions.
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words, terms,
or phrases shall have the meanings given herein:
A. "Business" is meant to include all kinds of vocations,
occupations, professions, enterprises, establishments, pursuits, and all other
kinds of activities and matters, together with all devices, machines, vehicles
and appurtenances used therein, any and all of which are conducted for private
profit, gain, or benefit, either directly or indirectly, anywhere within the
limits of the city.
B. "City" is the city of Columbia Falls, Montana.
C. "City council" is the city council of the city. D. "Clerk"
is the clerk of the city.
E. "General business license" includes all businesses other
than professional business license.
F. "Licensee" is the holder for any use or period of time of
the license created in this chapter, to do business within the city.
G. "Person" is meant to include individual natural persons,
partnerships, joint ventures, societies, associations, clubs, corporations, or
any of the officers, agents, employees, or representatives thereof.
H. "Professional business license" is a license for persons
engaged in the building trades including but not limited to carpenters,
plumbers, electricians, roofers, excavators, building siding installers,
landscapers, fencers, installers of gas heating or cooking appliances, general
building contractors, masons, and all other persons engaged in work in or upon
structures built on land.
I. "Finance director" is the finance director of the
city.
J. "Special event" is an activity conducted by a business for
the duration of not more than three days as an attraction, festival, bazaar, or
market which includes multiple vendors. (Ord. 657 § 1(part),
