Candidates for any elective office of this city may be nominated for the municipal election to fill such offices by filing with the city clerk not less than fifteen days previous to the day of the municipal election a certificate of nomination containing the name of the candidate, the office for which nominated, his residence, his occupation, and his business address, and may contain any statement of not more than five words of the principle which he represents.
