At the regular meeting of the city council, the city judge shall present to the council a report in writing, giving a statement of cases tried for offenses against the ordinances of the city and the fines collected therefor during the preceding calendar month, which report shall be accompanied by a receipt from the city treasurer for the amount of such fines and costs.
