2.04.040 Order of business.

At the hour appointed for the meeting of the council, the mayor shall call the meeting to order and be the presiding officer, except that in his absence, a president pro tempore may be chosen by the mayor. Upon the appearance of a quorum, the council shall proceed to do business in the following order:
A. First, reading, amending and approving minutes of previous meetings;
B. Second, reports of officers;
C. Third, reports of standing committees;
D. Fourth, reports of special committees;
E. Fifth, presentations of petitions and communications;
F. Sixth, new business;
G. Seventh, consideration of bills and claims against the city. (Ord. 566 § 2, 1993: Ord. 4 § 5, 1909)
